Wordless Wednesday - Sittin like Dad!

Update on back pain

I'm happy to say my pain is about 80% gone!! The muscle relaxers definitely helped a ton! I'm still trying to not bend and lift too much. So hopefully that will help. I seriously hope it's never that bad again!

Pain in the %*$.......

Let me start by saying I have been having lower back pain for probably 1 year or so. Just your everyday pain from constant bending over to pick up stuff and carrying around 30+ pounds kids!
So, I wake up Wednesday and can barely get out of bed. I couldn't lift the toilet seat lid or lift my legs to get dressed. I'm getting this horrible pain in my lower back and down my legs. The task of sitting or standing is a 5 minute process or at least it seems. Oh and sneezing, bad, it's amazing how good I've got at stopping the sneeze!
I decided to call my sisters chiropractor, which I never went to one nor did I ever want to. I hate the sound of bones cracking so I've always avoided them. But I figured it he can help I'll try it. After he checked me out, he said I have sacro iliac derangement and lumber facet syndrome. Which basically I guess means my vertebrates are a little out of whack. So I was planning on going back on Friday. Thursday I woke up and no change. I decided to call my regular doctor to see if I would need an xray or mri to show what is going on. My appointment was yesterday. He said my lower muscles are so tight and rigid my back is completely straight instead of having the curve to it. I said I do feel like my hips are going forward. Of course he did disagree with what the chiropractor said. He suggested not going back to the chiro because when muscles are tight they shouldn't be manipulated. His course of treatment is an anti-inflammatory, muscle relaxers and pain meds if I need it. He said if I'm not better by Monday or Tuesday he will more than likely schedule an xray or MRI. I did take the muscle relaxer last night before bed and it seemed to help. But I notice as the day goes on it starts tightening up more. It's kind of impossible to not bend over at all, but I'm trying not too. I'm so glad the girls are at the age where they can help! They've been picking up all kinds of stuff for me. Kayla even had to help me pull up my pants..what a good little girl!

Happy Birthday, Kayla and Chloe

I am really behind on my posts. But better late then never! The girls celebrated their 3rd birthday on the 6th. They said they wanted a princess party, so that's what we did. It was really cute. When it was time to do the cake, I had the girls change into their "princess gowns". Everyone loved it and they looked so sweet. One of the best parts was singing happy birthday. This year we sang twice. I thought it was only fair to let each girl get their glory. So we sang to Kayla first since she was born first. Next year Chloe will be first. They each got their own cake too. I figured I never had to share my birthday cake with my sister, so why should they. The excitement in their faces was just priceless. Although, now I could kick myself because I forgot to grab the video camera. I would have loved to catch that moment on video now it's only a memory! At least I got a few pictures. I was trying to hold off the "face" painting until after cake, but obviously that didn't happen. Oh well! Happy 3rd birthday to my little angels!!!

Good night stories....

for the past 3 years I have read the girls stories everynight as part of our bedtime routine. Sometimes we read 1 book (hardly ever), mostly we read 3-5. We can be driving home from a long long day, they will be zonked out in the car. We'll carry them up to their room for the night and they automatically wake up. "Read book, go downstairs and read book Mom" , they will not go to bed without a book no matter how tired they are. I'm glad they like to read and hopefully they will always keep it when they get older. The thing is we are constantly reading the same books over and over and over. I am always trying to find new, fun books to add to our little library!
Here is a list of the most recent books we have been reading everynight!!!
Snuggle up little ones
Good Morning, Good Night
Mr. Pusskins, a love story
Mr. Pusskins and Little Whiskers
Corduroy, A pocket for Corduroy, and Corduroy Lost and Found
Parts
More Parts
Chrysanthemum
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Caterpillar Spring, Butterfly Summer

If anyone reading this would like to post some of their favorite kids books, we would love to read something new. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Photostory Friday - Water Fountain Fun!!

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

The girls had a blast the day we went to the PPG fountain! When we got there I had there bathing suits all ready. I spotted a sign with "The rules" NO Bathing Suits permitted and you must wear shoes. I thought these two rules were a little strange being that it's a "WATER" fountain. I guess thinking about those rules they probably had people showing up wearing who knows what, so it's probably best if people just stay dressed. We were breaking the rules at first when they took off their shoes, but being the non-rule-breaker that I am I made them put them back on! Since that was the only outfit I had they had to change into their bathing suits for their ride home!! I really don't think they cared what they were wearing. They loved it!
